![]() | "But Can He Sing?" Original Design My Lucky Charm Quilt This quilt took the Grand Prize for Quilts at the Bernina University Show in Chicago Illinois, April 2005. The quilt was entered by Rosemary Malzahn, owner of Bigsby's Sewing Center in Elm Grove, Wisconsin. The prize was a new sewing machine, a Bernina 440. I don't know who was more excited, me, or the ladies from Bigsby's Sewing Center. All the piecing on this quilt was done on a Bernina 1260 and now I am the proud owner of 2 Berninas. This quilt was juried into both the Houston 2005 and Paducah 2007 quilt shows. It was also juried into the Mancuso World Quilt Show-New England in Manchester, New Hampshire where it won 2nd in Country (USA) and also won Viewer's Choice. The quilt traveled with the World Quilt Show tour and won Viewer's Choice at the Schaumburg, Illinois quilt show in August of 2006. The peacock was featured in Quilter's Newsletter Magazine Photo Finish in April 2006 issue and in the The Quilter Magazine in the April 2007 issue I showed the peacock at the Sun Prairie Quilt Show in March 2007 where he won Best of Show Wall Quilt and Viewer's Favorite. The quilt was shown at the NQA June 2007 quilt show in Columbus Ohio and at the Quilt Odyssey Show in July 2007 in Hershey Pennsylvania. I was thrilled to win a 3rd place ribbon at Quilt Expo, Madison, Wisconsin in September 2007. | |||
